Wasps

Why do we fear wasps?
Rodents with wings. Outcasts.
Airborne snakes, can’t shed their skin.
Bees rendering them illegitimate.
Smooth antisocial creatures, barbecue wreckers.
Hairless garden defenders, a necessary evil?
Black and amber model waistlines
the sole attribute we can warm to.
But we still don’t trust them.
In the guise of bees working out.
Charlatans all of them. Thieves.
What real purpose do they serve?
Killing spiders, flies and caterpillars!
Wasps are a greater scourge.
Egregious vermin that terrorise us.
Why can’t they be, honeybees?
