What Is This Hell....

What is this hell called quinoa? It is so very non-descript.

This pretentious pseudo grain, has the middle classes gripped

Neither quite a cereal, nor a grain, but just a little seed.

Of the spinach family, which, for our health we need

It is full of goodness, they would have us all believe

Which is fair enough, but it is a food, that, I’d prefer to leave

So is it quinoa or quin- o -a? I’ve never really known

Until I saw it on telly, on that advert, that was shown

Apparently it can be dressed up, to make it somewhat tasty

With lemon juice, shallots and herbs, but let’s not be too hasty

If a pie’s your thing, or a hot shot parmo is preferred

Remember you can dress quinoa up, but you can’t, polish, a turd
