It was a cool day , the sun was creeping over the horizon painting the Skys in hues of pink and yellow, the clouds looking like they were straight out of a magical story tale . It was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen , as I watched my dad sitting on his old creaky chair enjoying the blessing of the suns warmth on his face and skin and staring ahead, waiting. I loved my dad, it was me and him since the start. He was the best dad I could have ever asked for. I never cared when strangers would ask me if I didn’t want a mum or when she went. I knew I had no mum but from what my dad told me stories of her. She was one of the most beautiful women he’d ever seen (second after me obviously). With hair as red as wine , her eyes were the most richest brown and as deep and comforting as an ocean, she had the most contagious smile he’d ever seen -which I luckily inherited he tells me, it would light a whole room up, make you feel happy and warm just at the sight of seeing it. He met her on a warm day were sunrise began just as it was now. He was on his chair on his porch and saw her approaching. Looking like a lost puppy with multiple bags of apples and a big fat smile. That was all I knew, all he’d ever tell me.

I decided to go have a walk around the meadow and watch the full sunrise from a hill juts two minutes away from our house. I told my dad the plan “bye kiddo” he shouted eagerly waving at me as I headed for the meadow. The sun was beautiful, it was so bright and granted me much comfort. I decided to run as I saw the day getting brighter and brighter. Panting and smiling I ran through the meadow and onto the big fat hill right infront of me. Oh goodness me I was exasperated as I watched the birds sing their beautiful melodies and plopped right at the apex of the hill ,swallowing large gulps of air down trying to steady my heart rate. There it was the sunrise I watched atleast four times a week. The sun reminded me of my mother for some reason, remind me of her deep red hair and miraculous smile. “Ouch!” I heard in the distance whipping my head around. Down bellow I saw a women, collecting apples and placing them into bright blue bags into her car boot. Who on earth was this women? Oh I just had to meet her! I got up and tried to walk as swiftly down the hill without giving the impression of running. As soon as I made it to the bottom I looked at the women again and felt comfort. She had ginger curly hair as red as wine and freckles covering her whole face, she as about my age. Did she just move in here?

I walked closer to her and smiled as she spotted me. “Hi” I said , “did you just move into the smiths old house?” She looked confused as I asked.

“Smiths? Ive never heard of them, im actually here to meet my sister.” She chuckled and as I helped her put a bag in the boot.

“Oh really! Well then please let me help you” I exclaimed helping her pick apples of tree.

The girls name was lysandra and told me all about her plan to charm her sister and her father with apples. I tried bitting of my slime as this instance reminded me of all the stories my dad would tell me of my mother. We finally finished up with the apples and she asked me to take her to 23 Dorset drive. My face froze, my eyes wide with shock . “Sorry what” I laughed with a dry throat.

It couldn’t be , no there was no way.

“Is everything ok?” Lysandra asked passing me her bottle of water , urging me to drink.

“ARE WE SISTERS?” I shouted in complete disbelief beginning to pace around in circles around the big apple tree in the middle of the meadow.I should have thought and realised the connection when I saw a girl with my hair colour collecting apples twenty minutes ago.

“Your- oh my goodness!” Lysandra exclaimed embracing me in joy. I couldn’t believe this my dad didn’t want to tell me I had a sister? For all these 17 years I had  lived. I had a sister. Was this a parent trap situation? “How old are you” I asked with a smile of my face,  this was my sister standing infront of me.

“Im 21 and your 17” lysandra said with a big fat smile plastered on her face. She explained how shed dreamt of this day for years and how she couldn’t wait to meet me and my dad after years of dreaming squeezing me into another hug.

We both drove her bright red ford into the road parallel to my house and stepped out. My dad jutting out of his seat placing his tea down and running to us.”You two met it seems “ was all my dad said after pulling us into a hug.

There it was the start of my family blooming together.
