The door to the warehouse opened slightly, barely giving way to LIGHTWIND's kick. With a deep sigh, she dashed into the building and slid into the center of the concrete floor. Suddenly, a loud cackling emerged from the raised platform in front of her. Out from the darkness, a figure dressed in a black suit with slicked back purple hair stood and clapped slowly.
"SO YOU FINALLY ARRIVE SOL- wait... you aren't..." The figure scratched the back of their neck.
"NO! My name is LIGHTWIND! And I'm going to TAKE. YOU. DOWN!"
"Oh. Um... well... SHOW ME WHAT YOU'VE GOT!" LIGHTWIND chuckled and entered a fighting stance. Wind surrounded her and made her cape billow as she dropped her hands to her sides. After five seconds of buildup, she thrust her hands outwards, sending a light breeze towards the figure.
A moment of silence passed over them.
"Uh, is that it?" The figure shifted awkwardly. LIGHTWIND felt her cape drop and the wund cease as she cleared her throat.
"T-t-take that!"
"That was... a very mild breeze."
"Y-you should be falling over now..."
"You thought it was stronger didn't you?"
"I... yeah..."
"Hey hey, no worries. You're certainly not the worst superhero I've ever fought."
"Really?"
"Yeah. Like, you know that new team called ALAS?"
"I've seen them on the news."
"Of course. One of their members, Invisimax, has invisibility and the ability to manifest whatever he wants into reality but only he can see it."
"That sounds great, what are you talking about?!"
"I wasn't done! To use these powers he has to expell invisble ink. And I mean literally invisible ink. He's also a massive pervert."
"Oh god."
"Yeah, it's a miracle the other members haven't kicked him out already."
"I just..." LIGHTWIND sighed and shrunk into herself slightly. "I just thought that since I finally manifested some powers that I could be a hero like my wife... guess I was mistaken..."
"I mean... You could always... Join me."
DUN DUN DUN!
"What the hell was that?!" LIGHTWIND jumped slightly.
"What was what?"
"That noise."
"Whatever are you talking about?"
"When you... whatever."
"As I was saying..." the figure cleared their throat. "You could join me... and make people's lives... interesting."
DUN DUN DUN!
"THERE IT IS!"
"There what is?!"
"The thing! When you started being ominous there was that musical sting!"
"Oooooooooh. You're talking about my sound guy."
"Your... what?"
"Give me a sec. STEVE! GET DOWN HERE!" LIGHTWIND blinked as a spider person with long silver hair descended from the cieling and landed next to the figure. "Steve, meet... what's your name?"
"Lightwind, all caps."
"...Dramatic irony's a bitch, anyway, Steve meet LIGHTWIND. LIGHTWIND meet Steve."
"Um... hello Steve. Are you some kind of spider man or is tha-"
"WOAH WOAH WOAH!"
"...What?"
"Steve is woman thank you very much."
"Oh, my bad. I just assu-"
"Shut it. I cannot work with someone like you. Steve, we are leaving." The spider person nodded as the figure glared at LIGHTWIND. The figure rose their hands into the air and clapped, causing both figures to insantly vanish. As if on cue, the warehouse's skylight erupted into flame and a female figure wearing a skintight yellow leather costume, including a large cape the somehow appeared much larger than her incredibly muscular build, landed next to LIGHTWIND with a loud bang.
"NOT TODAY FOUL... villain?" The figure stared at where the villain was and back at LIGHTWIND. "Are you alright, babe?"
"Yeah... I just thought I could actually... do something..."
"Well... regardless of how good your powers are or aren't, I still love you." LIGHTWIND chuckled.
"I know." LIGHTWIND wrapped her arms around her wife's waist and pushed up on her tippy toes to kiss her on the lips. The two stayed in that position for a long time before flying away to continue their work.
