Shall I tell you a tale of two brave sloths who embarked on an adventure to find a new haven?

Theirs was crumbling, growing smaller, the husband was worried as the bump on his wife's stomach grew by each passing day. They would need to move soon in order to find a place in which their unborn child could prosper.

The husband and wife walked miles until they came to the edge of their homeland. Beyond the lush green trees and sweltering heat lay a turbulent sea that answered to no one. For days they built a raft they could only pray would carry them to their new destination in one piece. That day had finally come and so they set out to sea, with the little provisions they could carry, the waves lapped behind them and they bid goodbye to the only home they knew.

Weeks, perhaps months had passed, they considered themselves lucky as the sea treated them kindly but they had not seen land in sight anywhere. The swell on the wife's stomach grew bigger and heavier and she could do nought but lie and rest as her worried husband tended to her and did everything he could to keep them afloat.

One night the air grew still and cold, the wife had become agitated, fearing something sinister was coming their way. She was not wrong, in the distance they could spot a wave, with each passing second it grew nearer and nearer, increasing in size each time. With nothing to do but hold onto each other, they looked into each others eyes, years of love, laughter and happiness shinning in them and sorrow that their child would not get to experience the joys of life. The wave continued, large and mighty until it swallowed them whole.

The sloths awoke with a start, surrounded by fresh air and bright light, they wondered if they had made it to heaven, the wife recalling the laughter of a child, hands reaching down as the sea claimed them. Food and water had been placed next to them, nearby stood tall creatures with gentle smiles, they spoke in soft, quick whispers and left the sloths to recover.

A few weeks later a beautiful baby was born, they called him Atty. The sloths loved their new home where they were safe, warm and cherished by those around them. They had met others with stories like theirs, those who had travelled distances in search for a new peace.

Some days the wife couldn't help the shadow of worry that settled over her heart or the nightmares that the sea had taken them forever. But when she'd look into the eyes of her child, eyes full of hope and wonder, she realised no matter where life took them, all she needed to do was look into those eyes and she would find herself home.

And so, dear Atty, that is how you came to be-life is full of promise waiting just for you.
