There was a little wasp who flew with a frown,
Today was not a good day, he was feeling rather down.
It started with his shoes, they really caused him stress,
No matter how he tied his laces, they’d end up in a mess.
He stomped his feet in anger, and threw a shoe or two,
He muttered a word he learnt from dad, it was rather rude.
He flew off to find breakfast, he wanted something sweet,
He found a human picnic and spied a tasty treat.
But no sooner had he landed they all began to scream,
They flapped their hands and flicked him, right into a stream.
He crawled out wet and angry, he coughed, spluttered and choked,
He then buzzed with anger,
“This day is a bad joke!”
He sat and sipped some nectar from a tasty flower,
And as he looked up at the sky his face began to sour.
For what came crashing down was a giant red ball,
It bounced him off the flower and right into a wall.
The little angry wasp buzzed and popped out his stinger,
He planned to sting as many as he could before dinner.
For this little, angry wasp didn’t know how to calm down,
He eyes were red with anger, his face was in a frown.
It started with his shoes, then there was the stream,
Then the ball and then the wall, he let out a scream.
But then he stopped when he heard, a familiar sound,
He felt an embrace and then warmth all around.
It was his mum hugging him tight,
“Let’s take some deep breaths now, it will be alright.”
The little angry wasp felt the heat leave his face,
His heart now beating calmly, no longer in a race.
He told his mum about his day and how it made him mad,
His mum nodded as she listened, “What a day you’ve had.”
The little wasp no longer angry, buzzed with a hum,
He flew off for a tasty treat to share with his mum.
