What the heck is shabby chic?

The paint's peeled off, the hinges creak

The woodworms munch it as we speak

This won't last another week.

They told me this was modern stuff

I paid a lot, so fair enough

The top has coffee stains from cups

The leg's been peed on by some pups.

The runner's stuck, can't move the drawer

The bottom bit fell on the floor

Some granny threw this out last week

Lots of shabby, not much chic.

Repurposed, that's the latest trend

Now something's fallen off the end

Excuse me while I screw the door on

Shabby chic? An oxymoron!
