The night cast it’s ominous shadow over the woods, a curtain over a stage. Even the crescent moon’s pale light was choked by the large black clouds that dictated the light. It was absolute darkness. The consuming eyes of a predator were unseen to the nescience prey, not a small reflection of life or light was to be found. The only thing that could be seen was the black of darkness. The sounds were the partner of the darkness, there was nothing to be heard. There was no wind, no birds speaking, no water running over rocks. The sound was just as bleak as the night was. It was as close to death as possible while still barely living. The land was sleeping. Although it could not be seen, the earth could feel the thick cool fog of the night combing through the woods, making the grass sickly wet, keeping the trees movement in check. Only then when the night had reached its darkest point, did the storm begin to growl and the sky begin to cry....
