Way of LOVE

Under the quiet glow of the moon, a father played with his children. Laughter filled the night — except for Rafi, who sat beside them, lost in thought.

His father noticed. “Why aren’t you playing?”

Rafi hesitated. “Something happened at school today…”

He explained how, after the bell rang, all the children ran happily to their parents. But Rafi stood still near the gate. Many women were waiting — all wearing similar hijabs. He couldn’t recognize his mother.

“I just stood there… until she came and held my hand,” he said softly.

Then he looked up at his father.

“Papa… when we go outside, how do you always find Amma so easily?”

His father smiled — not just with his lips, but with something deeper.

“At first,” he said, “I was just like you.”

Rafi’s eyes widened.

“After our marriage, I couldn’t recognize her in a crowd either. But life changed.”

He paused, looking at the sky.

“When your grandfather passed away, everything fell on me. Responsibilities, worries… I felt lost. But your mother — she never let go of my hand. She stood beside me, giving me strength with her words.”

He continued gently.

“She started stitching clothes to support us. Day after day, sitting for hours… her legs began to ache. They became thinner with time. Every night, I would massage them.”

Rafi listened silently.

“Her hands… from cooking and work, they got small burns. Marks that never fully faded.”

He smiled faintly.

“To her parents, she was a princess. But she never complained.”

The father looked at Rafi.

“So now, I don’t find her with my eyes.”

He placed his hand on his chest.

“I find her from here.”

Rafi followed the gesture.

“Love isn’t about faces or appearances. It’s about knowing someone so deeply… that even in a crowd, your heart recognizes them.”

He gently touched Rafi’s head.

“Next time, close your eyes. Don’t look… feel. You’ll find her.”

Rafi smiled — this time, without confusion.
