My heart was fluttering in able to stay in my chest, the moon and stars glaring down as i rubbed my hands together hoping to create some warmth ,as I stepped towards the old colossal brown door. This place was isolated and it was as if no one had stepped here in years. I lifted my hand in anticipation and slowly pushed the door to see if it opened. It did, taking a deep gulp of air in I stepped forward and turned my flashlight on. 'Hello?" I asked in question yet no reply. Trembling I stepped forward again wishing for my once nimble feet that I had once neglected. I hated this place, the very essence of it made me want to crawl out of skin and throw up or maybe even scream. It reeked of evil and it was as if something very evil and insane had once gingerly walked through these halls I saw in front of me. Taking an another deep breath of air in I scanned my surroundings seeing if there was anything I could use to my advantage if at one point I had to fight and crawl my way out. My attention first went onto the giant spiral staircase that stood in front of me, the marble carefully crafted into small flowers along the handle bars with gold accents peppered throughout, the red velvet carpet that although now was covered in dust still looked magnificent.
The chandelier above it made of crystals and diamonds, it was resplendent and majestic as if it was something found in a fairy tail. I hesitantly shuffled in taking in the architectural composition of this old, ancient place. I looked back and peered at the door double checking it was open, escaping the inevitable doom of being locked in by placing a giant rock in as a door stop. I shone my flashlight around the place once again and headed my way for the back garden, where my dad's old 'signed' football lay. A cold breeze brazed past, rattling the chandeliers crystals as if the wind was giving the crystals a warning. I breathed onto my fingers frantically rubbing desperate for some warmth and cautiously made my way into this once notorious grandly crafted mansion found parallel to my house. Already halfway there something changed, I felt like I was being watched as if I was prey to a predator, like a mouse to a cat, as I silently stopped and turned around as un noticeably as possible to see if something was in fact there and saw the door closed. I gulped and my breathing hitched up. My fingers figeting, my lip being pressed into a smalli line as I surveyed which way to go. Garden or door? I no longer felt cold not as the scared and terrified feeling of death loomed over me, not as the possibility of that door closing by chance was impossible, not as my instincts went into survival and decided to sprint for the door. My dad would definitely side me with me here, right? I braced myself and ran faster than my trainers could take me, I ran watching the door get closer and closer until the door got closer and closer. I finally was at the door panting like a wild dog and grabbed the door handle and pulled. NO! I breathed no no no the door would open it would it wou-. I sat up straight from my bed my hand at my chest trying to control and steady my breathing. Another horrid nightmare of that day.
