Sun rays penetrated the wispy clouds, clearing all signs of darkness on this magical day. Atty the sloth had been born a mere hour before, and yet his fur was already coated in leaves and dirt from his surroundings. The tree in which he was gripping onto rose up high above all other greenery and vegetation in his enclosure. Slowly, he grabbed onto a nearby branch, the first movement he had made on his own since he had entered this world. A gust of wind made the little sloth back down into his mother's chest again. Her protective embrace calmed him and her breath warmed his chubby face as he stared around. Looking down, he could see a long tree trunk, its brown colour mundane against the vivid green below. Atty's eyes were dark - pools of wonder as he gazed at the sky. Never had a colour so vibrant taken up so much space in the sky, the royal cobalt had come out just for this special day. Above him, a bird flew and circled Atty playfully. Chirping, it landed right in front of the curious sloth, and tilted its head. In return, Atty, nudged it with his nose, causing the bird to hover around his head and purposely get annoyingly in the way.
"What are you?" Atty murmured, his young voice slightly shrieky as he was still growing into it.
"I'm a bird." The creature replied. "You must be new to this world if you don't know that."
"Yes I think I am." Atty said, as he tried to remember where he had been an hour ago. It was dark, that's all that came to his mind.
"Well then, I must be your tour guide." Said the little bird. "I can tell you everything about anything. I know quite a lot you see."
The little sloth grinned at his new friend, and nodded eagerly.
