I was a giant onion,

Buried in the ground,

With a tuft of spiky leaves,

And a belly big and round.

One day you pulled me upwards,

I thought that I could fly,

But you chopped me into pieces,

And that’s why I made you cry.

I was a bitter onion,

Hard and sharp and tart,

But you peeled back my layers,

And softened up my heart.

You helped me come to see,

That I had to change my ways,

And all along the big dream was,

Spaghetti bolognese!
