The 'Happy' Friend

Every friend group has the 'happy' friend. The one that is always there to comfort you, the one to make such fun plans, the one to laugh until their stomach hurts, but although this is what you see from them, most of the time, this isn't the case... They could seem like the happiest person in the world until you realise they have that 1, 000 yard stare. The one that is so obvious that something is wrong but people just brush it off because they are 'happy'!

They suddenly start getting less sleep or too much sleep. Eye bags so dark, they look like they've risen from the dead.. They start giving away items that are so important to them because in their mind they won't be needing them soon...

No one asks if they are alright because they only see one side of them. The happy side.. It's like every morning when they go to school, their is a thick mask..

One day they try talking to someone about their emotions and their life at home but everyone just brushes it off. "Sorry but I cant talk right now, this person needs help, but you're always so happy! I'm sure it's nothing! " that will hit them like a brick. It hurts to hear that, and they just say "yeah.. " and walk away. Feeling shattered...

One morning you will get some horrible news about them... They have taken their own life.. No one expects this because they were always so happy.. At least that's what they seemed! Everything starts to not feel right. Then the puzzle pieces start coming together.. Thats why you have so many of their stuff, thats why they were always so tired, thats why they always helped you out.. They never wanted to you to feel their pain, so they put on a mask.. But all this time, you thought nothing was wrong with them since they were always so 'happy'......
