The invasion earned the title of Slaughter Day. Theirs, not ours.

 They came for help.

We remember the broadcast — their broken English and halting clicks. Their first step onto soil. A moment of peace.

Then, we did what humans do best:

Take.

We took their ships, their technology, their gelatinous minds for research and harvested egg sacs for experiments.

Humanity quickly advanced.

Their green blood healed us; their iridescent skin kept us youthful.

Their lives prolonged ours.

Hollywood was wrong. The aliens were never them.

They’ve always been here—disguised in flesh, hidden behind badges, grinning from seats of power.
