This story follows a woman named Amy and the transformation of her life after
marriage. For many, especially in Asian cultures, marriage is seen as a fairytale,
filled with love, security, and lifelong happiness. But for some women, that dream
can slowly turn into a painful reality.
Through Amy’s journey, this book explores the emotional struggles, hidden
wounds, and silent battles many women face within marriage. It sheds light on the
strength it takes to endure, to break free from what no longer serves them, and to
rebuild a life on their own terms.
This is not just a story of pain, it is a story of courage, growth, and self, discovery.
Amy’s journey shows that even after the darkest chapters, it is possible to heal, to
rise, and to find true love again, starting from within.
Amy was a beautiful teenager, Not just the kind of beauty people
admired in passing, but the kind that made people stop, look twice, and
remember her. Growing up in the Philippines, she quickly became the
center of attention, especially among boys her age. But Amy was never
interested in attention.
She wanted something deeper. Something real.
She had three sisters, Helena, Hannah, and little Sarah. On the outside,
her life looked complete. School, friends, laughter... everything seemed
normal. But inside her home, nothing was peaceful.
Amy grew up watching her parents fight again and again. The sound of
raised voices became part of her childhood. And worse, the silence that
followed.
Her father, Fredrick, was not the man she wished he could be. Instead
of love, he brought fear. Amy had seen her mother cry more times than
she could count. She had seen things no child should ever have to see. And
slowly, something inside her changed
She stopped believing in fathers.
She stopped believing in love like that.
“I will never marry someone like him, ” she promised herself.
School became her escape. It was there she met Frank.
Frank wasn’t like the others. He was kind, gentle, and easy to talk to.
He was also her cousin, someone she had known for years, but as they
grew older, Amy began to see him differently.
He became her safe place
Most days, it was Frank who dropped her home after classes. Those
small moments meant everything to her. The conversations, the laughter...
even the silence felt comfortable.
Truthfully, Amy didn’t go to class just to study anymore. She went to
see him.
What started as admiration slowly turned into something deeper.
Something she couldn’t control.
Amy fell in love.
But Frank had no idea.
To him, she was just family. Just someone he cared about, but not in
the way she hoped.
One day, her friends convinced her to confess her feelings.
It was Teacher’s Day. The school had planned a beach outing for
students, a day filled with laughter and celebration. But Amy couldn’t
attend.
Instead, she decided to do something she had been afraid of for years.
She called him.
Her hands trembled slightly as the phone rang.
“Frank... I want to tell you something important. Is this a good time?”
“Yeah, go ahead, ” he replied casually. “No one’s around. You can tell me.”
There was a pause.
A deep breath. Then she said it.
“Frank... I’ve had feelings for you since childhood. I love you. I want
to spend my life with you.”
For a moment, there was silence. Then he laughed.
Amy’s heart sank.
He thought it was a joke.
But when he realized she wasn’t laughing back, his tone changed. “No.
No. No.”
Three words. Sharp. Final.
Amy felt her chest tighten. “Why... why no?” Frank hesitated before
answering.
“I still love my ex. There’s no space for another girl in my life.” Amy’s
voice trembled. “She’s gone... and you still love her?” “Yes.”
That one word broke something inside her.
Tears filled her eyes as the reality hit her all at once. Without saying
another word, she ended the call.
And just like that, her first love ended before it even began.
The next day, Frank visited her place just to have some fun, since they
were family. However, Amy was upset and wasn’t behaving normally with
him. Since Frank had said no, she felt hurt and kept her distance.
Amy loved her uncle (her mother’s brother), and seeing similar qualities
in Frank made her believe he could be just as loving toward her if they got
married. She couldn’t hide her feelings anymore, so she took him aside and
said, “Frank, I really love you. Why don’t you say yes? What do I lack? Why
are you saying no to me when everyone wants me?”
Frank replied, “I see you as my sister. How can I see you as my
girlfriend? This won’t work. We belong to the same family, and if we get
into a relationship, it will become a big issue. I don’t want our family to
collapse.”
Amy was shattered. She couldn’t stop crying. Months passed, but she
still had the same feelings for Frank, while he continued to ignore her.
A new boy joined the school, Albert. He was brown, skinned with
brown hair and had a rough appearance. His dressing style and looks didn’t
match his age; he seemed more mature but behaved poorly. He liked Amy
from their very first meeting, but Amy disliked him. Still, he was captivated
by her beauty and soon wanted to make her his girlfriend.
Within a week, Albert proposed to her, but Amy refused, saying she
loved her cousin Frank. However, Albert kept pressuring her. One day, he
threatened to kill himself if she didn’t accept his love. He held a knife to
his neck and forced her to say yes. Amy cried and finally agreed.
She wasn’t ready for a relationship, but she convinced herself, “At least
I have someone who loves me a lot. Even though I didn’t get the love of
my life, he will keep me happy forever.” Albert promised Amy that he
would change his behavior for her, and he treated her very nicely.
Still, Amy had a place in her heart for Frank. However, she remained
honest, loyal, and kind to Albert. The relationship went smoothly at first,
but after two years, things changed. There were frequent fights, tears, and
very little happiness. They fought at least three times a week. Albert would
apologize, cry, and convince Amy to forgive him.
He was very possessive. Amy believed his possessiveness came from
love. Even when she doubted his behavior, she told herself, “No, I’m
overthinking. He’s not toxic. I’m just thinking too much. He loves me and
calls me with sweet names, so he can’t be a bad person.”
She should have taken these signs seriously, but she misunderstood
them as love.
After a few years, Amy and Albert convinced their parents, and their
wedding date was fixed.
A few days before the wedding, Amy was browsing Albert’s Facebook
account. She was good at guessing passwords. After several attempts, she
finally got access. She was shocked to see Albert’s messages with many
women. He had engaged in inappropriate conversations with some of
them and had even sent his photo and phone number.
Amy was terrified. However, she trusted Albert so much that she
couldn’t fully doubt him. Acting impulsively, without taking any
screenshots, she called him and said, “Albert, what are you doing? Why are
there so many inappropriate messages on your Facebook?”
Albert immediately hung up and deleted his account so Amy couldn’t
access it anymore. This made her even more suspicious. She video, called
him and asked, “Why did you delete your account?”
He replied, “I was scared you would suspect me and call off the
wedding.” Amy said, “I saw your number and your photo being sent to
many women.”
He responded, “It must have been my friends. I don’t use Facebook
much. They might have used my account. I love you. Please don’t leave
me, I will die if you leave me.”
Amy had many doubts, but seeing him cry made her believe he might
be telling the truth. She thought that since Albert was average, looking and
his friends were not even at his level, maybe they had used his pictures to
talk to other women.
But then she wondered, “Why was Albert’s number shared? His friends
could have shared their own numbers, right?”
She asked Albert again, but he somehow gave another explanation while
continuing to cry. Even though she wasn’t fully convinced, she accepted
his words half-heartedly.
Soon, the wedding day arrived. But as Amy walked down the aisle, she felt
something strange. Her heart was pounding, and a voice in her head kept
saying, “Amy, this isn’t right. Call off the wedding now.”
But she looked around and saw so many people watching.
She thought about her family’s reputation and felt she couldn’t step
back. Tears filled her eyes because of the sudden fear and confusion, yet
the wedding went on. By the end of the ceremony, she had become Mrs.
Albert.
That night, it was time for her wedding night. Amy got ready and went
to the room. Albert’s behavior felt unusual and uncomfortable to her. He
didn’t communicate or consider her feelings, and Amy, being very shy,
didn’t express her discomfort. The experience left her feeling afraid and
uneasy rather than happy.
As time passed, this pattern continued. Amy assumed that this was
normal and that all women must go through the same experience. She had
never spoken to anyone about it, so she didn’t know what a healthy
relationship should feel like.
Albert had an elder brother named Alex. Alex had been engaged, but
his wedding was suddenly called off just one day before it was supposed
to happen. The family, worried about their reputation, rushed to arrange
another marriage. They decided to fix an alliance between Alex and Amy’s
younger sister, Sandra.
Amy didn’t feel comfortable with this decision, but she felt she had no
choice. Now that she was part of Albert’s family, she felt pressured to
agree. Reluctantly, she supported the arrangement, and Alex’s marriage to
Sandra took place.
After about a month, Amy noticed some tablets in Albert’s bag. When
she asked about them, he said they were for frequent headaches. Still, Amy
felt doubtful about his behavior.
As months passed, Albert became increasingly rude. He started
shouting at her, even in front of his parents. Amy felt hurt and humiliated.
Eventually, she began thinking about going back to her own home because
she could no longer tolerate the disrespect.
The man who once spoke lovey, dovey words and promised her a good
life was none other than a drug addict. Amy revealed this truth to both her
family and Albert’s family. Everyone was shocked.
Amy’s family asked her to leave Albert forever, as he was not good for
her. But she refused to listen. Instead, she felt pity for Albert. She didn’t
want to ruin his life. She thought, “If I leave him, he might end up on the
streets in a few years. I don’t want that to happen. I will try to help him. I
will find a good doctor.”
Her intentions were pure. All she wanted was for Albert to recover so
he could have a better life. She even argued with her parents and said, “I
won’t leave Albert. Whatever he did was out of unconsciousness. If you
had a son like this, would you abandon him? No, right? Then think of him
that way. He has a life too. Please don’t ruin his life.”
But she failed to realize the reality of her situation. She believed she
could change him, unaware of what the future held for her.
But when she tried to go to her parents’ place, he started to beat her.
She cried and begged him to stop and asked for help, but he didn’t let her
go. This became a routine. He insulted her in front of his in, laws, and
whenever she tried to leave the house, he beat her. She felt helpless, as she
couldn’t leave the marriage because it might affect her sister’s life.
Amy’s husband behaved in a very unstable way. After beating her, he
would cry and say, “Why do you make me hit you like this? I love you so
much. Don’t make me do this to you.”
Amy thought that her husband might have psychological problems, as
his behavior was not normal. She tried to convince herself that he might
be going through internal struggles. She believed her love could change
him and that she could fix him. So, whatever she was going through, she
kept it to herself.
Even though he didn’t love her properly, Amy loved Albert deeply. Her
love was not romantic; it came from a deep place in her heart because she
truly cared for him.
As days passed, Amy found messages on his social media. He was
texting other women in a vulgar and disrespectful way. She also found
some inappropriate photos and videos of him.
She asked Albert, “Why have you taken pictures and videos like this?”
He replied, “You don’t satisfy me, and that’s why I text them and take
these pictures.”
He showed no fear or guilt. Even though he was wrong, he blamed
Amy. She burst into tears and cried uncontrollably after realizing she was
being betrayed. She cried the whole night.
She decided to leave his house. But then she thought to herself, “I don’t
have a job. If I leave now, who will support me financially? There is no
one. My parents can’t afford to support me. No matter what happens, I
have to stay here.”
She started searching for jobs and refining her CV. Meanwhile, the
same cycle continued. Albert would apologize, kneel down, and beg for
forgiveness, even touching Amy’s feet, promising he would never repeat
his actions. But he continued doing the same things. She kept finding
messages and inappropriate pictures again and again.
Amy finally decided to secretly find out about Albert’s activities. She
hired a private detective and discovered that Albert was a drug addict. He
used different kinds of drugs. The man who had spoken to her with so
much love in the beginning was not the same person anymore.
She took him to a doctor and got him treatment. The doctor suggested
that Albert take rest for three months, so Amy told him to resign from his
job. She became the breadwinner. She worked hard and managed the
household, cooking, cleaning, and handling all the chores.
Albert was kind, and he was recovering slowly. Amy could see some
positive changes in him. He even helped her with cooking, which he had
never done before. Amy thought, “Wow, there are so many changes in
Albert. He is going to be a nice husband soon.” She dreamed of a better
future.
Amy was working very hard and felt extremely exhausted, as she was
managing everything alone. After three months, Albert seemed fine.
Everything felt okay, finally, everything was over, Amy thought.
But after six months, she realized that Albert had started taking drugs
again and was having affairs with other women.
Amy was a girl who believed in everyone; she was naive. She thought,
“He is a drug addict, and that is why he is doing this. It is not really him,
it’s the drugs.”
She gave him a second chance. She took him to the hospital again,
found a better doctor and a counselor.
Every week, she went to the hospital with Albert and made sure he
received proper treatment. She cared for him like a mother and did
everything for him.
She thought that this time everything had gone well, that Albert was
perfect now. But after seven months, Amy found a video of Albert with
another woman. This was the end. No more chances for him.
“He looks nice, he looks innocent, but he does dirty things behind my
back. Enough is enough. I’m going to divorce this man.”
She collected all the evidence. It was a love marriage, and nobody
supported her decision to divorce him. She found a lawyer on her own and
completed all the necessary documents, which took her around one week
time period.
Albert was someone who didn’t care about anyone. Even after
everyone knew the truth, he didn’t leave. He stayed at Amy’s place. No
matter how many times she asked him to go, he continued living there
without any shame.
Amy had reached a point where silence was her only weapon. With no
other choice left, she decided to file for divorce, secretly. It wasn’t an easy
decision, but it was the only way she could reclaim her life. She found a
lawyer and began visiting him quietly, learning every step of the process
like a woman preparing for war.
Every Wednesday, she would slip out of the house unnoticed, carrying
the weight of her broken marriage along with the stack of documents in
her hands. Week by week, she completed the paperwork, her
determination growing stronger than her fear. After two long weeks, she
finally did it, she filed the case. The first hearing was set for two months
later. It felt like both a victory and the beginning of another battle.
But Albert... he was still there.
He refused to leave her house, as if he still belonged there. Amy tried
everything, pleading, arguing, even breaking down, but nothing moved
him. Calling the police wasn’t an option; the situation was tangled in family
ties, her sister being married to his brother. One wrong step could shatter
more than just her life.
Frustration burned inside her. She lashed out at him, calling him out
for his betrayal, her words sharp and unforgiving. But Albert stood there,
shameless and unmoved. It was as if her pain meant nothing to him.
Every night, Amy would lie awake, her mind racing with plans to force
him out. But each attempt ended the same way, Albert turning the situation
into a dramatic scene, begging, pleading, playing the victim. He would
claim he had nowhere to go, trapping her in a cycle of guilt and anger.
And so, under the same roof, Amy lived with the man who had broken
her, counting days, gathering strength, and waiting for the moment she
could finally be free.
Amy had been counting the days until the hearing. Each sunrise brought
with it the same restless thought: Soon, this will all be over.
For weeks, she had tried everything she could think of to make Albert
leave the house. She had pleaded with him, reasoned with him, and even
ignored him, hoping he would finally understand that there was no place
left for him in her life. But Albert refused to leave.
Desperate and exhausted, Amy finally turned to one of her uncles for
help. Her uncle did not hesitate. He called Albert and spoke to him firmly,
his voice carrying the kind of authority that could not be ignored.
“You need to leave the house, ” he said. “Whatever remains to be
discussed can be settled in court.” Albert pleaded for mercy. He asked for
two weeks’ time, claiming he needed money before he could return to his
hometown. His voice trembled with desperation, but Amy had heard too
many excuses from him to be moved. Still, after some discussion, Amy and
her uncle agreed.
Two weeks. No more.
And then, at last, the long, awaited day arrived. Albert was leaving.
As she watched him gather his belongings, Amy felt an unexpected
heaviness settle inside her chest. This was what she had wanted. This was
what she had prayed for.
So why did it hurt so much?
Relief washed over her, but it was accompanied by a deep sadness she
refused to let anyone see. She kept her face composed, her expression
unreadable. The world saw her strength. Only her pillows and the silent
walls of the washroom knew how many tears she had shed.
That night, as she lay awake staring into the darkness, doubt crept into
her mind.
Should I really do this?
Should I leave this familiar hell behind and step into a world filled with
uncertainty and judgment? Her thoughts twisted and tangled until she
could barely breathe.
What am I doing? Which path am I choosing?
For a long time, there was only silence. Then clarity came. It arrived
quietly, like the first ray of sunlight after a storm.
You are divorcing him because he is not good for you. Wake up and
smell the coffee.
The truth of it struck her deeply.
No matter how painful this was, staying would destroy her. And so she
chose courage.
With pain still lodged in her heart, Amy prepared herself to face
everything that lay ahead, the emotional scars, the financial struggles, and
the judgment of others. She would face it all because freedom was worth
the fight.
Life, however, did not pause for heartbreak.
Amy needed money. She needed stability. She needed to survive.
Finding a new job proved harder than she had expected. Opportunities
were scarce, and time was not on her side. Bills continued to pile up,
indifferent to her pain. She could not afford to wait for the perfect
opportunity.
So when a simple job came her way, she accepted it without hesitation.
It was not glamorous. It was not her dream. But it was enough to keep
her going. And for now, that was enough.
Then came the day of the hearing
Amy woke before dawn. The air felt heavier than usual, charged with
anticipation. She dressed carefully, choosing an outfit that reflected quiet
confidence. She organized every piece of evidence she had gathered,
checking each document twice.
Her mother and aunt accompanied her to court, their presence offering
silent support. When Amy entered the courtroom, her eyes immediately
found Albert.
He stood near the entrance, shifting uneasily.
There was fear in his eyes. Nervousness. Uncertainty. Amy felt none of
it.
She stood tall, calm and prepared.
When their case number was announced, her heartbeat quickened, but
her face remained steady. This was her moment.
The judge looked at her and asked the question she had been waiting
to answer. “Why do you seek a divorce?”
Amy took a slow breath. Then she began.
She told her story clearly and truthfully. She spoke of the pain she had
endured, the attempts she had made to save the marriage, and the countless
chances she had already given.
“I tried my best, ” she said firmly. “But this is no longer working’’. The
courtroom was silent.
Then Albert spoke.
His voice broke as tears streamed down his face. He begged. He
pleaded. He asked the judge for one more chance, promising that he would
change.
Amy’s stomach tightened.
Albert had always been a convincing actor.
For a brief moment, fear gripped her. What if the judge believes him?
Before that thought could consume her, she stepped forward.
“No, ” she said firmly.
Her voice echoed through the courtroom. “I do not agree.”
Albert turned toward her, startled. Amy met his gaze without flinching.
“I will never live with him again. He is not a good man. Please serve
me justice.” Her voice trembled, but her resolve did not.
“Justice should win today. If you refuse to separate us, it will be a great
injustice to my life. Please give me justice.”
The room fell into complete silence.
The judge studied them both carefully. On one side stood Albert,
crying and begging for another chance. On the other stood Amy, wounded
but unwavering.
The judge’s expression softened. He pitied them both.
But unable to make an immediate decision, he finally picked up his pen
and scheduled another hearing for a few months later.
The sound of the pen scratching against paper felt louder than anything
else in the room. Amy’s heart sank.
It was not the ending she had hoped for.
As she walked out of the courtroom, disappointment weighed heavily
upon her. But beneath it was something stronger.
Determination.
This battle was not over.
And Amy knew, with every fiber of her being, that she would keep
fighting until her freedom was finally hers.
Amy slowly tried to overcome the fear of the future and her sadness by
adapting to her new routine of managing her daily chores on her own. She
began to accept the fact that she was now a divorcee and that she would
eventually have to find a soulmate again.
She often found herself thinking about the kind of person she wanted
in her life, the qualities he should have, his appearance, his height, weight,
education, and profession. Every night before going to bed, Amy imagined
this man in detail.
She pictured a well, educated business owner with a medium skin tone.
He was, in truth, only an imaginary figure, but she had grown attached to
the character she had created in her mind.
Meanwhile, Amy wanted to switch her job as her current one did not
meet her expectations. She began applying for new opportunities
continuously. To her surprise, she received an email from a company called
“Toroto, ” inviting her for an interview.
At first, she assumed it would be similar to her previous job with a low
salary, so she judged the opportunity quickly and felt unsure about
pursuing it. While lying down and thinking about it, she decided, “Let me
do some research about this company so I can attend the interview
properly. I should at least give it a try.”
She searched the company online, and a few blog posts appeared along
with a video of the CEO speaking. Amy was shocked the moment she saw
him.
It was the same face she had imagined in her mind.
It felt as if something she had created in her thoughts had come to life.
Amy was overwhelmed with emotion, convinced she had somehow
found her soulmate. His name was Rick, and he was the CEO of the
company.
When it was time for the interview, she joined confidently and
performed very well. Rick was impressed by her presence and
communication skills.
Since Amy was highly qualified, he hired her on the spot without a
second interview and extended the offer immediately.
Her training began the very next day, and Rick himself was her trainer.
Rick was highly professional and well, respected. He appreciated Amy’s
work ethic, her skills, and the way she completed tasks efficiently with
minimal supervision.
What they shared was not love or a crush, but something unspoken
that quietly began to develop between them. Yet neither of them
understood what it truly was.
Even though Amy felt she had seen him before, she remained
confused. Is he the one? she wondered.
She had many doubts, especially since he was far more experienced and
accomplished than her in every aspect except one, her quiet confidence and natural beauty. Because of this, she chose to maintain a professional
distance and treated him strictly as her boss.
Amy focused on her performance and consistently exceeded
expectations, often achieving more than three times her targets.
Rick was extremely satisfied with her work, and she began earning three
times her base salary through her on, target earnings.
This significantly improved her standard of living. For the first time,
she felt financial stability and security on her own.
Slowly, Amy began rebuilding her confidence as a single woman in a
positive way. She started focusing on herself, prioritizing her fitness and
appearance.
She joined the gym regularly and even took aesthetic facial treatments
to enhance her beauty. With each passing day, her confidence continued
to grow stronger.
Soon, it was time for the second hearing. Amy and Albert arrived at the
courtroom with their parents, the atmosphere heavy with unspoken
emotions.
As everyone stood in silence, the judge looked at Amy one final time
and asked, “Do you wish to move forward with the divorce?”
Without hesitation, Amy lifted her chin and answered firmly, “Yes.
This decision of mine will never change.”
Her voice carried a certainty that left no room for doubt. With that, the
judge granted the divorce, and just like that, it was over.
The bond that had once tied Amy and Albert together was severed in
a matter of seconds. Yet Amy felt no sorrow. She stood there as the
strongest version of herself, confident and unwavering, without even the
slightest thought of stepping back.
For the first time in her life, she truly believed in herself.
She did not turn around to look at Albert even once. There was nothing
left to say, nothing left to hold on to.
But Albert stood frozen in place, his face shadowed with regret. There
was anger, sadness, and helplessness in his eyes, while guilt weighed heavily
on his heart.
Though he did not shed a single tear, his expression revealed the pain
of realizing he had lost something precious, a treasure he had failed to value
when he had the chance.
Amy chose to pour herself into her work and focus entirely on
rebuilding her life. Months passed, and slowly, the wounds she carried
began to heal.
Then one day, her mother brought up the topic of marriage again,
reminding her that time was moving forward and that she was growing
older.
Amy resisted at first, unwilling to open that chapter of her life again.
But as proposal after proposal arrived, she reluctantly agreed to at least
meet a few suitors.
At the same time, inspired by Rick, Amy decided to start something of
her own.
She enrolled in a cosmetology course and discovered a hidden passion
for creating skincare products.
What began as a small side project soon blossomed into a dream she
could call her own.
She started crafting handmade soaps, perfumes, body lotions, and
other beauty essentials, pouring her creativity and dedication into every
product. She named her brand Ethereal Elixirs.
The company started modestly, but within just six months, it gained
remarkable visibility. Her products received glowing reviews, and demand
grew rapidly.
The sales were more than enough for her to leave her full time job and
dedicate herself entirely to the business.
Yet Amy chose not to quit. She hired a small team to help manage the
company while she continued working for Rick.
The truth was simple, though she never admitted it aloud. She liked
Rick.
But the idea of love still frightened her.
After everything she had endured, the thought of allowing someone
into her heart again felt dangerous.
So she buried those feelings deep inside herself, refusing to name them.
She often wondered whether what she felt was love, admiration, or simply
a harmless crush.
After all, Rick had unknowingly changed her life. He had helped her
rediscover her confidence, inspired her to build her own business, and
showed her a version of herself she had never believed could exist.
Had she never met him, she might have remained just another ordinary
working professional, living a predictable life.
Whatever it was she felt for him, Amy kept it locked within her heart.
She treasured every small moment they shared, every conversation, every
smile, every word of encouragement. Yet she never spoke of it to anyone.
Meanwhile, her mother continued her search for a suitable groom,
eagerly presenting alliance after alliance.
And each time, Amy would smile politely and say no, offering one
excuse after another, while the real reason remained a secret only her heart
knew.
Amy’s sister, Hanah, who lived in Dubai with her husband, invited Amy
to visit for a vacation. By now, Amy was earning well, and going on an
international trip was no longer a big deal for her. She requested 30 days
of leave from Rick and flew to Dubai.
She spent quality time with her sister and niece. Amy adored her niece
and cherished every moment with her. They visited new places and made
beautiful memories together. At times, Amy slightly missed Rick, but being
surrounded by Hanah’s family kept her distracted.
Meanwhile, Rick started missing Amy deeply. He realized something
important was missing in his life.
Since Rick was also a divorcee who had experienced a painful past, he
had quietly developed feelings for Amy without fully realizing it.
At first, he thought it was just friendship, but her absence made him
understand the truth. He was in love with her.
Unable to keep his feelings to himself any longer, he called Amy. Amy
picked up the phone and said, “Hello?”
Rick replied, “Hello, Amy. I need to tell you something very serious. I
love you so much, and I want to marry you.”
Amy was shocked. For a moment, she thought she had misheard him.
“What?” she asked.
Rick repeated, “I love you. I truly do. I think I have found the perfect
partner in you. Everything you do makes me feel closer to you. I don’t fully
understand this feeling, but I can’t stop thinking about you.”
Amy smiled softly and said, “Will your family be okay with this, Rick?
I love you too, but I’m afraid to fall in love again.
First, speak to your parents. If they are okay with this, then we can
continue this relationship. I can’t afford to have my heart broken again.”
Rick replied confidently, “Okay.”
Before ending the call, Rick casually mentioned that he had an
important file with a friend and asked for Hanah’s address so it could be
delivered to her.
Amy gave him the address and hung up, though she felt slightly
disappointed by his simple response. It seemed too ordinary for such an
important moment.
Two days later, the doorbell rang.
When Amy opened the door, she froze in shock.
Standing there was Rick, holding a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a
box of chocolates. Beside him stood his parents, smiling warmly.
Amy was speechless.
She quickly invited them inside and greeted them. Hanah joined them,
equally surprised.
Rick’s parents explained the purpose of their visit: they had come to
formally ask for Amy’s hand in marriage for their son.
Since it was an important decision, Hanah immediately called their
mother through a video call. Together, they discussed the wedding date,
preparations, and other arrangements.
Everything happened so quickly that Amy wondered if she was
dreaming. Throughout the conversation, shy smiles filled both Rick’s and
Amy’s faces. Their happiness was impossible to hide.
The wedding was fixed for the following week, with only close relatives
attending.
It all happened in the blink of an eye. Soon, the wedding day arrived.
Amy wore a stunning dark red gown, while Rick looked elegant in an
off, white coat paired with a crisp white shirt. Together, they looked
breathtaking.
The ceremony was filled with joy and warmth.

It was as though both of them had finally found what was always meant
to be theirs.
Amy had manifested her soulmate, and Rick had found a caring, loving
woman who would stand by him for the rest of his life.
